flow for 48x24x20

Wanted to get some opinions on flow for my tank.

Right now I have a 6105 and an old 6100 which works well by the way. I just don't like the bulky look so I'm selling it.

The question is should I get two 6055's, mod some 6045's or just get another 6105?

Trying to get the biggest bang for the buck. for now.and get as much coverage for the entire tank.

When my budget allows it I will possibly consider a mini wave box but not sure as it takes up valuable space.

The tank will start off with mainly softies but eventually be primarily sps and it is bare bottom.


I've seen some really nice tanks e.g. sunny x's and 143 gadgets as well as gsmguy who run primarily modded 6045's 4 to 5 of them with similar dimension tanks.

Also as a side note are the 6105's readily available or is it every couple of weeks there is a shipment from Germany?

Ecfencing, i would go with 2x6105 that will take care of the flow instead of a bunch of small Powerhead...

I agree, the 6105 we are still very behind on but we do get some every week now. I don't expect them to be a stock item that is readily available until February/ March.

Thanks. I missed out on the last shipment since I didn't check my email fast enough. I was able to get one early in October and since then haven't been able to get a hold of one.

I guess the question is will I be ok with the one 6105 in my tank since the only corals I have are a small GBTA and a green torch until I get a new 6105......for a few weeks?
