Flow for Clams

All,

I am interested in possibly keeping several clams, but I have questions in regards to flow and neighbors.

What type of flow does a clam like to live in? Crazy like SPS or soft like LPS?

Also, are their any type of neighbors that they should not be kept with excluding certain fish?

Thanks!

They prefer softer flow. As long as the mantle isn't flapping about in the flow (which disturbs them) they should be fine!

Mine get blasted by some random heavy flow every now and then, but it doesn't last. They will not like it if the heavy flow is constant.

I have SPS touch my clams with no apparant ill effect to either. However, I did try and frag or move them when I could. I have seen some softies and LPS cause clams to retract and others did not seem to harm them. I would not keep a clam too close to an anenome... some say that it works, but others say that it doesn't - too risky in my book.
