iiiim getting a 130"x24x24 this weekend and im not willing to drill for closed loop.
what powerheads should i use?
tunze or vortecs?

thanks

you can also use an external pump without bulkheads. do an intake at one end of the tank and an outlet at the other. Then just use an airline to prime it for the first time. You can make your outlet as a horizontal pipe accross the width of the top of the tank on one end. put a long slit in it right under the water. do your intake deeper in the tank on the other end. So this will give you a constant flow accross the whole tank. very efficient.

hope this makes sense.

LDagger it does make sense, and being a closed loop i wouldnt have to worry about leaks either.
Hmm got me thinking. Also thats alot cheaper cost wise.
What is the quietest, most effecient pump being used now?

cap the water returns from the main pump with penductors so you can use it for turnover AND flow. Massive flow.

THEN add at least one MP60. Done.

Hands down Vortech over Tunze in this case because directionality is a non issue in a 130"x24x24
