Flow for zoa

It really all depends. I have some zoas who prefer a steady low flow while others stay closed up until there is virtually no flow. But i would say that small flow works the best on most of mine.

Random flow by far is the most natural means of carrying nutients to Zoas and Palys, but I have achieved equal growth and expansion with persistant medium to medium high flow. Too much current can be detrimental in that it would prevent full polyp expansion and sometimes cause constant retraction. Current which slightly moves the tentacles is consider enough in my opinion. Current without good lighting would mean nothing since both are equally as important with zoanthid and palythoas being photosynthetic corals.

As long as you don't have a power head point right at the Zoa. That is what I would say. I try them all , They are easy and currently don't really bother them too much
