I'm in the process of setting up a 5'x6'x3' system.
In addition to powerheads, sump and remote DSB returns, I was going to add a closed loop for flow.
For the main closed loop, I was thinking of using a hammerhead gold 5550 GPH pump.
I want to run a manifold around the perimeter of the tank just below the rim and have the returns come up over the tank and in. Essentially, the manifold could hold itself on the edges of the tank, but it will be additionally supported.
With this pumps ratings, and an assumption of using 8 returns with penductors on each, will the pump still put out proper flow ratings or will it be too choked back by the manifold?
Any suggestions?
