Flow in a non Reef tank?

Hello all..
I am switching my tank over to a non reef non live rock setup...how important is flow without live rock or any corals? I'm kinda a dummy when it comes to non reef related stuff...I am setting up an air feature in the tank and the tunze I have is stirring all the microbubbles up.. so maybe less flow.. does it even matter for the fish..I will have a small small amount of live rock in there to keep the critters happy along with some fake stuff..

ya might want to post exactly what you want to keep in there.....why have any LR at all in there if it sounds like ya just want fish

are you running a sump? you can go for 10X and be just fine.

An Air Stone is not the best thing in a Saltwater tank unless you do it in the sump. Reason being is the bubbles start to attach to your fish and irritate them to the point of disease starting at some point, If you feel you need more oxygen get a bigger skimmer as it will do the same thing or move the air stone to the sump. JMHO

I just wanted an air feature look to the tank...a few of the tanks in AC have that...but it seems to cause a problem in saltwater for the long haul..I planned to get just some live rock to create a safe haven feel for the reef type fish I plan to keep..

Different people have different opinions. To me air-stones is just fine! I used to run one long ago and never had any issues. It just all depends on how you run it. TOO many micro-bubbles IS bad for the fish. But running an air-stone isn't. For example, in my 46 bow front I used to have, I run an maxi-jet 900 along with an air-stone. But I only kept 3 fish in there. I also ran a eheim canister filter as well. Do I like the air-stones idea? YES I think it would be quite neat!!!

I've treated my tank twice with herbtana, which requires you to turn off your skimmer - so I used an old airpump and a ceramic "airstone" during treatment for airation. The Fish seemed to like playing in the bubbles - aspecially the Blackspot Angel. I would think that if the bubbles were large enough, and not sucked into a fan or powerhead, where they could be chopped up into micro bubbles that you would be fine. I also like bubbles in my tank - probably a holdover from my 30 years of Freshwater tanks, where they are very common.
