Flow options for a 90g?

I'm kicking around setting up my 90g but need to know what kind of flow you guys are using. I'm sure I'm under powered and need to know by how much. My current inventory "boasts" a pair of Koralia 750s and a pair of K2s, a K1 and a couple other misc powerheads that I probably wouldn't use.

I'd assume I'd need something like 4 Koralia 1400's to do it right, am I right?

I'm not seriously considering this or anything, but the 90g in the crate in my garage is kind of calling my name. If I did this, I would basically be pulling everything from my 40br and moving it into the 90g. Livestock and equipment wouldn't change, just water volume

A MP 40, or even two on a cycle would be nice. :)

I would think you would probably need something equal to two K4s to get the job done.

Vortechs are definitely not an option, but I wish they were! I'm wondering if a Koralia evo750 on each third of the back wall plus a K2 on the sides pointing in would do the trick...
SPS could be arranged into high flow areas easily, but I'm concerned with detritus build up on the sand since the tank is so deep.

I doubt the build will happen, but I want to get some ideas if I ever jump on it.

You could probably do it, you'd just have a quite a few power heads in the tank. Until you felt like upgrading powerheads, you could "section" the tank off.
Use one of your pairs of Koralia's for the basic tank flow. Then use the other in one of the sides(Example, one on the side near the front, the other on the back panel pointing in the direction of the first powerhead) and designate that area as an SPS section of the tank.
Then use the K1 in another spot to help increase the flow. Upgrade the the powerheads when you can find them on a good deal.

I hope that makes sense. I was planning on something similar if I redid my 75G.

Nope, not with the current equipment list. I'd be using my Ocean Runner 2500 as a sump return, but the flow from that will be negligible.

If I did use small powerheads, it woudln't be a permanent thing. I would slowly, eventually upgrade to larger powerheads. I would think a final mix of a pair of evolution 1400s and my current evolution 750s would be enough, but the upgrades would come slowly.

I got out in the garage and found another downer for this project. My stand is only 24" tall. I'd have to sit on the floor to look into my tank! haha. that's another nail in the coffin for this thought project. I don't have the time or the desire to drop spare cash on a new stand right now.

Oh well, keep the suggestions coming if you want to play. This is more of a future planning thread than anything, so don't burn your bandwidth doing a bunch of research for me. :)

Well what I have for my 90 gallon is a evolution 1400 and a evolution 1050 and that seems to do wounders. I had them on on the kleft and right. Or you can have them in the back and have them pointed to the middle. That way you can get alitle more power out of them. If your looking for enough for SPS I would also get a $4 korillia and put that on the dide of the overflow poinint to the left or right. I have the 1200 korillia #4 in the right side in the middle of my overflow and that sweeps all the way around to the other side so ith those 3 power heads yo get amazing flow.
