Flow & Pairing question

I just bought a pair of true percs and have a couple of questions. They seem to be pairing already, but the male looks like his fins have been nipped a little as they're torn a little bit. Does the dominant one usually nip fins and will he be alright?

The second question I have is about how much flow you have. The pair I have seem young/small and looked like they were struggling a bit to keep up with the flow. I shut off my two koralina 1's until they explore the tank more. How much flow do you have in your tank?

I currently have a 28g NanoCube.

I had the same experience as you with the one getting nipped at, lasted about a week and they are fine now and he has fully healed. I have 34g solana with a lot of flow. 2 k1's, 1 k2 and a rio2500 return. They struggle a little in certain parts of the tank but they seem happy.

Now on the other hand i am not to happy with them not hosting the bta.
