Flow Question

I currently have a 96X30X32 mixed reef with a huge bioload. I run a wavebox, 2X 6100, 1X 6200, 1X6105 with a 7096. Are there any better alternatives that would use less energy? Would night mode save any appreciable amts of energy?

Thanks

Tony

The 6100's use 45W at full power vs 30W for a 6105. The same if the wavebox is an older 6212, the 6215 pump uses about a 1/3rd less power. However, in general that entire set up even if all were running at full power at all times is 195W, which would equal 140 KWH per month running 24/7, in Austin TX that would cost about $15 (10c a KwH winter rate) , assuming all aren't running at full power it is likely below $10. In general aquarium flow pumps are pretty efficient and lighting as well as heating and cooling are about the only areas you can see any appreciable savings. Night mode turns off the wavebox but even an older 6212 only avarages 30W between off and on cycles, it is a miniscule draw.
