Flow Question

I am placing frags in my tank now. So far everything is going great, colors are good, growth is good. I just bought a hammer coral frag and I placed it on the bottom to get used to the tank. I guess my flow is pretty strong at the sand bed, it is getting beat up. Is there a good way other than just picking up and moving it all around my tank to find a spot with lower flow? I didn't know if anyone had any methods they used to figure out frag placement other than trial and error.

It helps to know the basic light and flow demands of your new corals before you place them, and then find a spot in your tank that you think will match the corals needs. Here is a good website that lists many of the common corals and their light and water flow needs:

Maybe I asked the wrong question. That is a good reference though. What I am looking for is a good method to determine the high and low flow areas of my tank.
