Flow rate for an aquarium

Is there a suggested flow rate for a succesful reef
I have a 75 gal aquarium and I am interested to what is a good flow rate?

Depends on the tank, what you have in it, shape and more. I would say IMHO ten times turn over is a good start... Upwards of 30 times for some systems.

I've heard a good rule is 3-5 times the system volume and hour through the sump and the rest through closed loops and/or powerheads/tunzes.

I can tell you that 13 times turn over in a 450 gallon system was OK for softies and some LPS, but no where near enough for SPS. When I redo the tank, I'm going with about 25 times turnover per hour:)
