flow rate of wave box pump??

Hello Roger.

I have two standard (not nano) waveboxes and love them. Just wondering what the flow rate is of the pump that is used in them. If I were to utilize the same pump as a continual pump what flow rate would it be?

I'm setting up two closed loops with 1.5 in outlets and I'd like to use the wavebox pumps velocity as a judge for setting up my closed loops (to help me determine the proper amount of outlets to get the appropriate velocity out of an approx 1.5 in outlet.)

Thanks.

Jeremy

The pumps are not designed to run continuously as delivered. They are essentially a 6200 or 6201 with the power supply of a 6100 or 6101 because used as a wavebox they never draw full power, run continuously, they will eventually burn out the power supply. Maximum capacity is 5200gph, but you would need to upgrade power supplies to do this. The wavebox produces far more flow than this.

Thanks Roger. I don't plan on running them continuously. I just wanted a feel for what kind of velocity comes directly out of the pump when it's on so I can use that as a guage to determine how many gph I want out of each of my outlets from my 1.5 in outlets on my closed loops.

Thanks again.

OK, it is fine for even a few days, but long term it causes problems so for this short term test, no problem.
