Please help !

I took the guard off of my 6060 to adjust the direction of the output tonight and after plugging it back in it seems to be sucking water in through the main outlet! I can't think why it is doing it - before it was turned off it was fine.

Is there anything i can do??? I love this pump and dont wont to lose it.

I assume it wasn't used on a wavemaker? Basically something is messed up with the braking system. Most people don't know this but most pumps spin clockwise or counterclockwise and with an impeller it makes no difference, with a prop or uni directional impeller a system is needed to stop a backwards spin. When this happens on a Stream usually the pump has damaged brakes or the red o ring at the bottom was left out when it was reassembled.

Thanks for th quick reply.

No I read somewhere that it could not be used with a wavemaker - and I have not taken it apart.

Is it dead now? It's only a few weeks old. :(

No, some small part is broken, at most you need a new drive unit, I would dissassemble it and check everything.

It works!

Thankyou - I looked for what must be the brakes and fiddled with it a bit and it now all works great again. I also got a magnet to hold it so that it could be positioned to not move the sand so much - I would recommend to anyone with a stream to get these magnets despite the additional cost - the pump then truely become a very versatile piece of equipment
