flow through fuge?

Hello,
I have an acrylic box that can hang on the back of my tank. It is between 10-15 gallons. It is broken into 3 segments. I was planning on keeping some cheato ir something in it. I was just wondering how much flow should be going through the box so that the water leaving the box can benefit from the cheato?

how big is your tank? basically 3-5 times the tank volume per hour in flow will be somewhere near, providing the tanks not 100 gallons of course,lol

The tank is a 90 gallon tank. I guess im going on a hunt to find a small pump. The pipe into the fuge has a fitting on it that fits a maxijet, but I only have 1200s so thats what to much.
