Flow versus dimensions...

I've read for almost the last two years, and whether it be a handicap of the mental process or there just isn't a clear explanation, I cannot decide on a flow pattern/design.

My tank dimensions are the simply and cheap Aquarium masters Rimless 57Gallon (Illuminata knock-off). 36x21x18 with an oversized megflow style overflow, it seems I cannot get enough flow to suspend bottom deritus off the bare-bottom. I have channeling back-eddies that seem to accumulate all the waste. While this makes it easier to syphon, it drives me nuts. I was used to a cube and ease of creating flow due to short distances to reflect flow from opposite angles. The length and obstacles in this tank make it a bit puzzling.

1xKorallia 1400 EVO
1xKorallia 3 (Old version)
2x425gph EVO Korallia for back pane to try and keep flow under and behind rockwork...
Return pump is a Mag 3 directed with a loc-line nozzle to the middle bottom pane ove rockwork.

I'm thinking I need twin Tunze 6055 or the cheaper non-controllable 6045 (or 6025 with grind mod)... I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger on twin MP40's simply due to price and the noise I constantly hear griping about. The tank is in the entrance of the home, and consequently almost right next to the TV viewing area. Noise might be a huge issue.

I have a clear back pane for purposes of better light/refelctive purposes for coral coloration and growth... The black power cords to each powerhead drive me insane. Is it that much of a difference with a painted black background?

Are the back-eddies normal, or am I to void these areas of stagnance?

With about 36 frags/mini colonies of acros/milles/digi's/monti do you think I need more flow? A gyre effect may help, but will a pulse style controllable system work better?

Any and all help is appreciated. I came to the best forum I know, your wisdom will surely help.

I am a big fan of Vortech pumps. I used Korallia for along time. Korallia just doesnt put off a wide enough flow pattern. Two MP40's in your size tank would be LOTS of flow. You would most def have to dial them down. Noise is all relative to the listener. I have four Vortech mp40 on my tank. They dont bother me one bit and I dont consider them loud by any means. If you are comparing them to dead silent then yes there will be noise. If you used 2 vortechs in that size tank you would have no dead spots for sure.

Ive always prefered the painted background. I dont think the reflected light is going to do much benefit for you anyway. The background will let you hide your cords and will make your corals contrast more. Colors pop alot more against black vs. a white wall.

I tried the background with a temp. black plastic back to get a feel for it on this tank. Love it, and I remember why all my last rigs had the same. Thank you.

As for the Vortechs there is no hum or click? $800 for noisy waves scares me, but then again this is why I'm asking for input. Much appreciated.
