ok for my 20gal im looking to up the flow
im geting a SCWD to put on my return

as for powerheads im trying to chose between a Koralia 1
or 2 mj 600s

can you control the flow output on both of these pumps ?
any advice on witch to go with

I don't know anything about Koralia pumps. I use a lot of Maxi-Jets, and would recommend 1 MJ-900 over two 600s, for efficiency. The Maxi-Jets don't have any flow control, although they will work on a timer. How much flow is going through the return?

To determine the amount of the flow that you will be needed, what type of corals do you plan on keeping... if any?

i have some and plan on keeping more sps clams and rics with one really nice lookin frogspawn anf i would love to one day have a really nice Gorgonia of some type,so i guess its going to be some what mixed reef but sps domonate

In a 20g, I'm sure that a MJ-900 would work just fine. No need to blow the corals away ;) 40-50 times turn over is good.

It takes up a bit of room but the quality of flow would be very much increased if you add a Hydor flow deflector to a MJ.

I looked at a web site. I haven't used the Koralia pumps, but the specs are very impressive. I'd look around for some reviews before buying. Maxi-Jets have been reliable for me, and will work, though.

The koralia's spread the flow out much better than a maxi-jet. I have 2 #1's on my sps frag tank which is very shallow. I used to have maxi-jets, but definately getting the koralia's helped to stop dead spots in my tank. Thats just my opinion.
