flower rock anemone...Please advise

Just bought the most awsome colored anemone I have ever seen...Brilliant orange about 5" side to side. Really glows under the blues! Don't usually buy things without researching first but could not say no. Any advice would be welcome. The little research I've done since I got home suggest it is a fairly hardy anemone that loves meat and a variety of light.(Got a 250 W 1200K MH...reeflux with standard florecent actinic for the blue effect in the morning and night)

If it really is a rock/flower anemone, that is a great find! Pink, red, and orange ones are pretty rare......I have never been able to find them in those colors.

They are very hardy, and will eat just about anything. And best of all, once settled, they don't move! So they are ideal for a reef tank.

Could you post a pic, to make me jealous? :)

Thx,
-R

lancer99...The guy I bought it from said he had it in his tank for 5 years...I took a pic but it would not post because it was to large...Being a newbie to this computer thing I could not figure out how to reduce the size...any advice...would love to post a pic of this anemone!!! Looks awesome under the blues!!!

jam,

You can sign up for an account at photobucket.com in about 30 seconds.....or post pics on RC, but then they have to be under 50K in size, unlike photobucket.

HTH, looking forward to your pics!

I have a green, orange and white rock anemone. very good additions to the reef tank. Right, they don't move and will eat just about anything.

finally got the photobucket thing going ...Here is a pic.Not nearly as brilliant under thesse shitty lights.Came from a tank with PC's.I'm getting halides in tomorow

Yeah, they can be quite colorful: red, green, orange. If you provide good conditions for it, there's no reason you can't have it all your life. From all I've read, they are hardy anemones. They can be found around the florida keys and then into the carribean.
