I have recently got some new acros in my tank and decided to up my flow a bit. I bought a tunze nano stream to get this done. The only thing i am worried about is my zoa collection. I know they are very hardy but my question is do you think raising flow could negatively affect my zoa. I think they will adapt by shortening stems and such. But please give me you take on this. Also let me know some stories you have about doing this.

I have 4 MJmods in my 80 reef, my zoas are doing great.

In my opinion, zoanthids do much better and grow faster with a good widespread flow. I think you will fine with the tunze.

yeah agree I have good growth with hig flow. I have a 180 with 2 vortech and 2 tunze 6100....

reeferpnoy~ How do you like the vortechs compared with the tunze??? I have 2x6000's in my 120 and am looking to add some more...


Back on topic, I concur with everyone else... I have a Nanostream 6025 in my 24g Aquapod and my zoas love it... Just so long as you are not directly blasting them, they'll be fine... A good judge is so long as the polyps stay open and extended, you don't have too much flow...

all i am adding is a 6025 to my 75 so i dont see it being to big of a deal but i thought i would ask. 660gph in a 24 gallon tank huh!! nice

Yeah well, I have a lot of my choice SPS in that tank... Its playing babysitter while I get my 120 stabalized where I want it to be... And IMO its just enough flow for my 24g... And like I said, I'm looking to add more flow to my 120... Probably another pair of 6000's... lol That will be some nice flow...

you should see my brothers 120 he has two 6100s and the flow is insain. you could surf in his tank. But i have always had great fortune using moderate flow aimed in the right directions. But I am on my way to bigger and better.

I have 1 tunze 6000 and 2 6025's on my 58gal which is 36". I used to have 2-6000's but that was a bit to much so I downgraded. My zoa's love all the flow.
