Flukes or something else?

No expert here by any means, I can only speak from first hand experience. I did the tank transfer and observation only on the three fish I have, no proactive prazi treatment. After one month in the DT I confirmed two had flukes. Lesson learned. I treated prazipro on Monday night right into the display as I didn't have a trap and like to killed the fish (and myself) trying to catch them. Tuesday the prazipro worked and they have not shown any symptoms since. I don't plan a second round and plan to remove the prazipro on Sunday.

You might consider a second round to make sure you kill any eggs that survived the initial treatment. Prazi doesn't affect the egg stage, so you could still have some flukes that hatched after the initial treatment (prazi only stays active in solution for about 72 hours).

Thanks for the info Deino

So your saying that after 72 hours its not active in the system anymore? So is there any reason to wait the 5 days when its no longer active at 3?

This means at 3 days I can turn the carbon back on do a water change and get the skimmer running.

Then I should wait 3 to 5 days and do it all over again correct?

The reason I wait five days and re-dose is to catch any newly hatched flukes. Life cycle is 5-7 days if memory serves.
