Fluval EVO 13.5 - ATO

Just got the tank to be used as a QT and it seems like I lose about half an inch of water a day. The display area remains constant but the back area isn't.

My question for those without an ATO, how often are you manually topping off?

This question heavily depends on how big your tank is, how much surface agitation there is, how hot it is in the room etc.
for me personally though I top off about a half a gallon everyday (40B gal with 20 gal sump)

I have a fluval sea eco so would like to know as much as possible about it

ATO = auto top off. The system pours fresh water into the tank when water evaporates. This keeps the salinity in check.

The Evo 13.5 is an all in one tank that is 13.5 gallons

I manually top off twice daily using a small plastic container fitted with a plastic air valve to drip kalk water. I trashed the original hood/light and now have a clear cover that sits about 1/2” above the tank to limit evaporation while still providing surface air exchange.

so im right on thinking put 1.025 salt water in for water changes but clean r/o water for evaporation
