Im trying to figure out how much GPH I can have on the return pump and where the water levels should be., Right now I upgraded to a 264 GPH return pump (Eheim CompactON 1000 Pump) but it seems flow through the skimmer into the filtration system is not very good.

I have the upgraded media basket in chamber 1 and chamber 2 is empty.

I feel like the setup forces you to keep the water levels near the top of the glass at all times.

am I over thinking this

sorry its a common all in one setup I guess I thought some people had familiarity with the tank.

It has a single baffle overflow with a 3 chamber filter area. the 3rd chamber I have an eheim return pump.

I guess I will just watch and modify the system as needed.

I have the Fluval 13.5G AIO which has a similar 3 chamber “filter” system and my first two chambers are at the same depth as the display area and the third chamber (pump) runs about 1” lower. I check/clean the pump when the difference in the water level starts to diminish. My 1st chamber has a mechanical 100 micron vertical filter and my second has two small bags of GFO and GAC (1 TBS of each). Running for a year or so, no problem. Good luck.

How full do you need your display to have water levels like that? Do you use the plastic skimmer plate that comes with it?

Their is nothing to adjust I dont see how I can have such different water levels unless my return pump is to strong but I adjusted that down to 1/2 power and same thing.

I dont get it. Maybe I will post some pics tonight maybe im just completely missing something easy
