I was just curious if anybody was using these. I need a powerhead for a 10 gallon nano tank, but instead of spending $40 for a Koralia, I can get the same GPH with a Fluval pump for $10 cheaper. Any information regarding these would be great. Thanks.
I have really been wanting to try one of these but I already have more flow than I really need. They are more money than the Fluval but are small and powerful.
Thank you for the suggestion, but that's a little bit more than I would like to spend. Also, none of the LFS around here carry that brand, so shipping costs would make it even more pricier. To tell you the truth though, I'm not sure if my PC lights will be strong enough for the corals to survive long term. (zoanthids mostly) If I don't get a good response within the first 2 months or so, I'll most likely just tear the tank down. Thanks again..
Zoa's can handle a variety of lighting conditions, I have some tucked away in the corner that get almost no PAR and they are doing great, right along with the GSP.
Well, the zoanthids in question are frags from my 20 gallon tank. They seem to be doing great under the MH, (growing, coloring up nicely) but I'm afraid they might just be at a standstill in this tank. Not growing, but not dying either. Will see.
BTW, the lights I will be using are two 13 watt PC bulbs. Both of which are 50/50.
I have two fluval power heads that I am using to circulate my xtra saltwater and RO water and I cannot tell much of a difference between them and koralia other than koralia having magnetic attachments other than suction cups that fluval have. Fluval is owned by Hagen and Hagen is doing some R&D and likely some reverse engineering to try and become more of a competitor in the harder core reefer market with their pumps and led lights. I gave fluval a try by buying the two power heads and a fluval sea nano light for my fuge. I just picked this stuff up so time will tell but I got everything on sale and so far so good!
