FMAS 2009 Frag Swap

I have the following bag sizes.

4" x 12"
8" x 14"
10" x 16"

These are not the real thin plastic bags, these are the heavier duty ones. I will be selling them at my table at the frag swap for whoever needs them.

.10 per bag for the smallest
.15 per bag for the medium and larges

If you need them prior to the frag swap then PM me to make arrangements.

I'd kind of like to get a head start on counting bags so if you know you are going to want bags, please post how many you are going to want. That way I can have them counted and bundled together for you and already to go.

Forgot to add: Whoever buys bags - rubber bands are free.

I'M OPEN FOR TRADES AS WELL CAUSE I NEED FRAGS !!!

I'm not sure how this one would work out but if someone really wants to do it right, I also have a small O2 tank. If you are close to Coral Springs and will be bagging your frags ahead of time it might be a good idea to bag with O2 rather than your own hot nasty breath :)

"it might be a good idea to bag with CO2"

Uhhh, this is the first time I've ever heard this one... You actually bag with CO2? That's carbon dioxide?

DANG - my hour is up. It's still wrong. I can't change it anymore.

It's just O for Oxygen.

High School and TWO college degrees and somehow I never did take chemistry.

I'm thinking about going but I'm still not sure. I have some cash but I need to buy equipment for the 90g and not frags :P

Will anyone be bringing tanks? lighting? live rock? plumbing? If so it may be worth going! Let me know

Last swap there was alot of used equipment for sale, probably enough to set up a couple of tanks so yes IMO its worth it!

Ok I have a question if im coming with two other people how much will they have to pay if they aren't a member to get in?

Anyone that comes to the Frag Swap must either be a current member or join at the Frag Swap. Keep in mind that we are a non propfit and the only way of sustaining the club and paying for things like the Frag Swap, othe Key events we sponsor throughout the year, and some of the key speakers that are brought in for our meetings are primarily raised by member dues and our bi monthly auctions at the end of our monthly meeings.

We have three pricing levels for regular members (non commercial): student $10.00, adult $20.00, and family $30.00

The memberships are good for one year from the date you join and you can join at the monthly meetings, online at www.fmas1955.org, or at the door the day of the Frag Swap.

Hope this answers any outstanding questions...

I just put in my online membership for the year. Very exciting.

For people going to the swap, with SPS, do you prefer mounted or unmounted frags? I've gotten both answers before, but if I cut the frags fresh the morning of, it's easier for me to not mount them, and cheaper for you.

Also this weekend I'm going to write an article about dipping/qting/treating corals and the pests that can come on corals, so that we can have lots of well informed people at the swap, so we don't have to deal with people getting pests left and right.

Ok, I think I can make it. Plus, I just became a FMAS member. But I have a question: how much is the entrance if you're not a member? I ask because I have a 10 year old child I need to bring with me.

Who is bringing frags in a tank and not already bagged? I think that it is lazy of the person that already has frags in the bags. You really cant see what you are getting. I want to be able to see the frags that I am buying. Will anyone have tanks set up or just the crappy already bagged stuff? No telling what kind of pests that you cant see.

I like unmounted frags, plugs are a ita unless it's encrusting monties where a plug or tile is necessisary.

Alos on the frags already bagged, just take pics of the mother colony so we know what we're buying and if you dip properly you won't have to worry about pests imo.

Give us your opinion of others why dont you? Most people here would agree that we try not to insult others before having at least 70 posts. :)

We are a local community of people with the same interests and prefer to keep it friendly and helpful.

some people are making over a hundred frags and it is hard to put all them on plugs let alone bring a whole tank. Many people have very nice pictures of what you are buying and you will just have to trust them. At the pbmas swap i put my trust into mike for my first ever sps and now i am hooked. If you feel that there will still be pest on some of the frags, you can choose to dip them. But, yes, some people will have small tanks.
