FMAS 2013 Swap Meet

2013 FMAS SWAP MEET

When: November 16th, 2013

Where: South Plantation High School
1300 Southwest 54th Avenue, Plantation, FL.

Time: 10 am till 3pm

Admission:
FREE for attendees.

Table information:
$25 for half a table.
9am set-up, 4pm tear down.
Only current FMAS club members (Commercial, Single, and Family) will be allowed to purchase tables at this event.
POWER IS VERY LIMITED. NO CORDS WILL BE ALLOWED TO RUN AROUND THE FLOOR (NO METAL HALIDES or HIGH AMPERAGE EQUIPMENT WILL BE ALLOWED TO PLUG IN). No extension cords will be provided.
You will be provided five feet of table space.
Tables will be assigned upon your arrival.
Membership Cards will be required for validation.

*If you are only selling your own equipment (and NO LIVESTOCK) the table will be free. However you must still reserve a table. If you plan on selling fish, frags, etc, you will need to obtain a table at $25. Anyone violating these rules may be subject to a ban from future FMAS events.


All items sold or traded at the event must be marine aquarium related (aquariums, equipment, livestock, etc).

Refreshments: South Plantation H.S. Marine Science student volunteers will be selling food and snacks during the event.


FMAS members will have till 11/07 to reserve tables. FMAS reserves the right to offer tables up to other clubs and non-members after November 8th.

Anyone can attend this event! The entrance fee is $0.00 :rollface:

We hold this event for hobbyist to get clean out their closets and storage spaces of old and unused equipment. Last year there were some great deals to be had. I saw skimmers, or units, lights, and even aquariums from nano to 150 gallon+

To get a table you must be a FMAS member. After Nov 8th we will open the remaining table spaces to other South FL club members. Remember if all you are selling is equipment, there is no charge for table space.

So tell your friends, family and who ever else to be there. We will also have a raffle as well.

i know when you did thease back in nc most of the good stuff was sold or spoken for before the swap

im looking for top 3 1/magician palys , 2/Triton favia 3/setosa mini colony or large frag

Feel free to create a thread. Keep in mind many of the people that are signed up are not necessarily on or monitor RC. I think similar post are being made on the fb group page.

What's the point of having the swap then if everyone is going to list stuff and then sell it ahead of time .....as an active board member I would be against someone using the theme of the swap to just list up all their stuff and sell it ahead of time .....and then not even bother with supporting the swap..... people are working hard and volunteering their own personal time behind the seems to make these yearly swaps a success and a benefit to our club ....sounds like your more interested in just finding all the good deals ahead of time and not too concerned about supporting your club that ultimately is the reason these swaps local here exist...I could be wrong but kind of sounds that way if people do start just using the theme of the swap just to self benefit ....just imo ...could be wrong....

I don't know about nc but there will be plenty of frags for sale I would guess 99% of what is brought is not presold. If you don't get your setosa after the swap I could help you out with a frag but I bet someome will have one there

As the president of FMAS and the organizer of this years Swap Meet, I don't find it offensive to create such a post. As the person mentioned above, I'm sure their will be plenty of corals to choose from. Maybe I wasn't clear in my reply to you. But some have posted on our Facebook group page some of the items they will be bringing.

For those not familiar with our Swap Meet, our goal is to provide our members with a convenient location to get rid of their unused goods. This is why the cost for table space is free for those selling equipment only. If you are interested in space to sell your equipment, send an email to president "at" fmas1955 dot com.
