FMAS August Meeting - Julian Sprung

Great meet, saw a few familiar faces and a lot of new ones. Any corals brought to the aucton were basically proceeds that went to the club, they all were sold for so cheap that basically if you are trying to make any profit you get next to nothing. :D Hopefully I will have some mushroom frags to donate to the club for the next meet! lol... most of the mushrooms went for $10+. I was surprised, but most of the corals were under $30 bucks... except for the purple piece of SPS that Andrea and the other fellow were fighting over.

Hey Ryan, you should have asked someone for Xenia before the meet. Someone I'm sure is more then willing to give it away. ;)

Oh yeah, great guest speaker. I was very impressed with the turn out of people... is this normally the amount of people who show up to the monthly meets?

Was my first meeting, but it was reqally fun. Got to refresh on something I had learned a while back with the great speaker. I did like that question and answer forum where we were all able to help eachother with issues that were being had by some of the members. I havent been in the hobby for very long but have become really creative with plubming and was able to help answer some questions so it felt good to share my thoughts with other reefers. Hopefully I wont be as antisocial and meet more of u guys. Just wanted to thank Jayme, Chris, and Andrea for the stuff I got from them tonight. Theres nothing better than a bunch of people helping eachother out in the love of a hobby.

sorry for the spelling errors .... my eyes are a little tired because of that long reef life forum. Good to know that people still stick up for their lfs

Great meeting, finally meeting the faces behing the screen names and feeling not just welcome but at home. Can you believe that it took me less time to get there at 6 than to get home at 10? I guess this road construction will only help me get to the nest meeting faster.

Good meeting. Also my first meeting. I'll be attending more. I ended up with the conch; which, by the way, is one of the most interesting inverts i've ever seen. Thanx for the great auction bits. Also got some free cheato.

Good luck with him i had him in my 30gl just not enough room to roam. i love the eyes on stalks, and he gets all his food from the substrate and sides of the tank. Very fasinating method of moving and behavior. long lived too. I also got a nice big bag of chaeto i appreciated the hospitality!

It was a great turnout!
I asked around about the possibility of a show next year... Not really in the plans. Maybe if enough people start talking about it... I'm in for a tank and lots of free labor to help people set up.

Yes, he's fascinating. We love watching him. Thanx for the donation to the auction. We never would've even thought to get one if it weren't for the auction addition. He's in our 90 now.

Great meeting...I'm so glad I made the trip. Julian was a fantastic speaker, and it was great to meet and chat with some of you.

Thanks for such a good time!
