As many of you know, FMAS dove the Coral Restoration Foundation site last summer. We planted dozens of corals in a restoration effort. We are going back this month to visit those corals and see the progress made!!!! :spin1:

This event was published both in the Sun-Sentinel, and Coral Magazine (an international magazine). :bum:

Want to be a part of history?!! Come along!!

Aquanauts our Scuba liason has great deals on both the dive trip and on equipment. Contact them for that info. :fish1::fish1:

Below I will post the links to join us***

***Please note that Aquanauts link says 12 noon. That is for those that attended last year. Those that have not been there before need to go earlier for an orientation of the site. Aquanauts can guide you with that.***

I have a free coupon that we won at the fmas holiday party and 50% off buddy. How can I claim that? On the site it just lets you purchase the ticket.

Whats the minimum number of people needed to make the dive happen? What number are we at now? I am trying to get a few more people to go.

Im almost sure Worth said minimum of twelve. Not sure of current count, Worth is keeping tabs.

Im very likely out, due to knee injury. :mad2:

I went to the first link (the CRF link) from Eddie's post and searched all through the CRF site, but that website didn't have any information about an FMAS dive on 16 July. I went to their "Event Calendar" and it was blank for the next 12 months from now. The only place I could find a date was on the Aquanauts site, where they are trying to rent gear to people. Who do I contact if I want to participate and I have all of my own gear (full scuba set, tanks and weights)? Who is Worth and how do I contact him to see if the dive is on for this weekend?

Chuck- I apologize if my original thread was not clear.

Worth O'Brien runs Aquanauts. They are our scuba liason, and organizes these trips for us. As Treeman said, you do not need to rent equipment from him, but tanks and weights are included with the $60 fee. That gets you on the boat, and diving the site x 2 tanks, as well as planting of corals. Im almost sure it also includes a donation to the foundation.

At this point I am not certain of this weekends dive is on. The next one is in August. Last week I heard he did not meet the minimum, but I might be wrong. Make all arrangements through Aquanauts.

The July CRF dive was cancelled because we did not have enough people signed up. The next dive is Aug 20th I believe. If you want to go, please sign up now.

I believe we will get our very own reef where we can monitor the coral growth. It's a great experience if you've never done been.

Where else can you get a 2 tank dive with tanks and weights included for $60?

Any update on this trip (more people)? I know the last one was canceled due to inadequate participation. Hopefully that doesn't happen this time, but if it does when would we know? I'm guessing sometime the week before?
