FO decorations

Go to ebay and type in "holey rock" or look for the ebay store rockartsource. They look like pieces of art, each is unique. A little pricey though. Eventually I would like to set up a very large FO system with this stuff and possibly solid black sand. I think that would look awesome.

Make some man made mines, missles , shipwreck items , skulls , barrels , chests., some may say it looks junky , but the sea is a huge junk yard unfortunately!!

I want to attempt something like this and not have same ole rock looking tank !!

I agree, unfortunately the oceans aren't near as clean as we would like to imagine they are. I saw a really cool looking terricotta (sewer pipe) ornament at my lfs. It's quite large and could be used as a base under some live rock for tunnels or hideouts for fish. It could be mostly concealed just showing the edge or end of it and could also give the live rock structure stability. I'm thinking about it before I get too far along building my rockwork.

I've got no problem keeping prime LR in my pred tanks. Most people have half the flow they should be running, and change out water no where near enough. The LR should be blown off ever second day with a turkey baster, and weekly water changes. Good skimming, and target feeding help as well. Predatory fish need alot of food, but don't just dump it all in at once. Give them time to ingest portion after portion, and you'll have much less food debris floating around, getting stuck in the LR. I change 20GL a week out've my 100, and will probably swap 40 out've the 210.

Here's an old pic for kicks....
