Foam/Rock Wall for my 265 gallon Tank!

I am so glad I ran into this thread...man that looks awesome!! I really like the step by step!! I was trying to figure out how to hide my corner overflow on this build...and bang!! here it is!!
If you could...once the foam has dried, than you cover every inch with the 2 part epoxy, then you rub sand all over while it is drying, then epoxy over sand and everything again??
Thanks

I only did one round of epoxy - sand.....I guess you could do another epoxy coating over the sand.

I still notice some sand coming off now and then, especially when I do a water change.

I should really take some pictures tommorrow, lots of things have changed...it's getting fuller...

The tank is absolutely AMAZING. Her old tank was great, but this new one is just beautiful. I cant wait to see it again as it grows. Andrea, by the way, I want to come back and play in the frag room soon.

You really should i would love to see some new pics. This tank rocks! I wish i had done this to my 150, but it would be way to much work now.

Long overdue, here is a picture of the tank today

Things are going well, coralline on all surfaces, no visible algae and growth is phenominal.

Started running ozone about a week ago and the water is so clear, it's amazing.

Utterly stunning, girl!! And for a tank only 4 months old. Great job.

Cannot wait to get mine going (rock on order, have the finish resin and eggcrate ready to go, need to grab some foam). :D

Thanks for the compliments, guys. It's a pity though that the picture is a bit dark and doesn't show the depth and open spaces that can be created with the rock and foam.

Hey Speckled Grouper...just wanted to post this to say thank you...I followed your step by step to build my overflow cover and it has been a success!! ..hope you don't mind but I linked your thread to my build thread in case anyone wanted to know more details about how to do this...
Thanks again for sharing..

WOW what an awesome tank. I wish I had the skills to do something like this. Good Job!!

You don’t need any special skills to do this, it comes to you while you are doing it.

Harley, that looks great! How did you get the purple color on there? And where is that piece in the FTS?

The purple is actually the actinics playing tricks!! till I am able to get the canopy for my MH I am just running the PCS during my cycle..MH should be up next weekend...

The piece I made was my corner overflow cover... over to the left....
That is actually just a half tank shot!! :D

Looks amazing, I can't wait to start this on a smaller scale. 20G long. Only problem I'm having is finding that epoxy in Canada(middle of nowhere Canada at that)

I was wondering after you brush on the epoxy do you just sprinkle the sand on the wet epoxy? Is there a technique to it? Thanks. The tank looks great. This was a really good idea.
