Foam/Rock Wall for my 265 gallon Tank!

I am nearing the 1 year mark and against all odds (Solaris LED's, every pest known to man kind and all kinds of other hurdles), it's finally coming together.

Here are a few more...and I also forgot to mention that I have Banggai Cardinal babies! We missed the event and only found out that it happened after 2 little ones apparently made it through the overflow, standpipe and half open ball valve into the fuge....They are eating Mysis and growing like crazy!
So, I must be doing something right :)

*Such* a great tank... wow, so healthy that Banggai babies are accidentally hatched and reared in your system. Yeah, thats a good sign alright.

Still hoping to come to the Keys to see your tank in person - maybe Xmas time this year.

Thanks....c'mon down, we'll go snorkling or diving!

looks awesome. I have to admit when you first started I was sceptacle, but know I am completely just blown away. Great job, I love it.

what kind of wrasse is that in the bottom pic. I had one kind of like that once and it ate my clam. Just wondering if yours behaves and if its a different kind than what I had, eventhough I have no idea what mine was
just curious
thanks

It's a Melanurus Wrasse. I got it because I read that it controls pests like Monti eating Nudis, etc...
It has grown quite a bit since I got it. So far so good, I have had friends comment "Uuh, he looks mean...." but I have yet to catch him do bad things.

Here is a picture from tonight

to see this go from what it was to what it is now is really cool
you did a great job on this build i cant wait till i do my upgrade i will do something with building my own rock walls only i wont totally cover the back i want the visual of a blue sea in between a valley

with all this growth do you - dose, calcium reactor or alot whole lot of water changes?

I have a calcium reactor, but it's not really rock solid, I do supplement Cal and Mag and a few other little additives now and then.

We do get out own water from the inlet and do frequent water changes, I think that is definitely a contributing factor.

thanks for the info:D

Speckled Grouper,
Your tank is going really nicely. I will be doing a foam/rockwall as soon as my rock comes in.

What are you using for in tank flow if I may ask?

Also with all of the coral growth are you still happy with your water flow or are you thinking of increasing it?

Thanks,
Mark
