Foam under aquarium

I am setting up a 240 gal acrylic tank and was wondering how thick the foam should be between the stand and the tank? Also would the blue foam (that comes on big rolls) used under woodlaminate flooring work?

I use the 1/2" - 3/4" stuff from home improvement stores that is coated in thin plastic and comes in 4'x8' sheets.
