so if you havent seen my previous anenome question, it just had to deal with a new nem that i got and its feeding habits and lighting habits. well i have a new question. I know that an anenome will randomly move about, and i am completely fine with that. All powerheads have been covered to keep the nem safe. Oh yeah by the way i believe it was determined that i have a hatian reef anenome.
Anyway back to the question. I know i am jumping to a conlusion but, the nem has decided it wanted to move. It was happy all day long while the lights were on, nut last night after tank lights out, i woke up to find he moved. He decide to go behind all the rock work and get cozy underneath a ledge. I am asuming when he realised there is little light and i cant get to him to feed him, that he will move back out. and the question, Is this common that they will move during the lights out period of the tank? And i am obviously worried that if it is comfortable behind the rocks hidden, that i cant get to him to feed him and he will die then i have to remove all rocks to get it outbefore he nukes the tank.
I know that there is no way to predict this but any insight would be appreciated
thank you

It will move until it finds a spot that has the right flow, light, and food. If that spot doesn't exist in that tank, it will continue to move and/or float around the tank until it perishes.

and the darkness during the night cycle? would that play and issue? for the two days i have had it, it seems that during lights on it is content to stay put but during darkness is when he decides to pack his bags and move. and yes i know it is way to early to jump to a conclusion, and i will give it plenty of time, just like to have a small sense of what i can expect so for being hastey i apologize.

I'm not sure why they move at night but, that seems to be when they do most of their moving.

Not all the anemones moves; for the Epicystis crucifer nem for example there is an 80 to 90% chances that remain in its original place without going anywhere. As for the others, they move until they found a combination of light, food and currents of they're likes. And for the nights I think they're roam around searching for a tasting fish that they can catch around, that will be close to impossible to get during day time

Just a random thought, but maybe nems move at night because they are busy absorbing light during the day. Nothing better to do at night but stalk around, but use all energy feeding on light during the day. Just an idea, but sounds logical.

Same reason I suspect most corals feed at night, so they can use all their energy feeding on light during the day.

It may be finding your lights pretty strong. Let it adjust. It's having a crisis. When it needs light, it will venture out again. Nems are animals. And they go where they want to.
