whats the best food for my corals?
i have a hammer coral,candy canes,and other soft corals.
and do toadstools need anything to eat?

the hammers and candycane will benefit from some frozen cyclops or mysis spot feeding. soft corals like toadstools dont require feeding but if you were to feed them i believe they filter feed so like phyto plankton and marine snow and stuff. None of these corals require feeding to survive so i'd keep thier feedings like like once a week or less to avoid fouling the water.

I agree with not feeding most soft corals. As far as I know there's no evidence that they feed on phytoplankton, so I wouldn't add that to the tank just for that purpose. I defintitely wouldn't add any of that marine snow in a bottle. If you want to know why, Google Marine Snow. In nature, it's mostly dead phytoplankton and fish poop. Some soft corals, like certain zoanthids and mushrooms can in fact be spot fed, but if you just give them good light, they'll be happy. As for the LPS (hammer and candy cane), Skeptic's suggestions are good ones. They'll eat just about anything meaty that's the appropriate size. I always had a hard time spot feeding my hammer coral, but that may have just been me.

can i target feed this to them <a href="http://s179.photobucket.com/albums/w283/x1crt/?action=view&current=chromaPlex-high.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w283/x1crt/chromaPlex-high.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

It's mostly water and provides almost nothing useful to the tank. Save your money. There are very few useful foods that come in a bottle. The few that do contain live foods.

You can't really "target feed" filter feeders or corals that feed mainly by absorption (i.e Xenia). You can put the Chromoplex in your water and filter feeders may benefit, but they'll probably do just as well on dissolved leftover food, fish poo, etc. I've got a tank full of softies, including two LARGE toadstools that I've grown from frags, and I've never tried to feed them anything. IMO, the best thing you can do for most softies is feed your fish well ;)
