So i got some gel food with my reef crystals. anyone given it a try? i put some in and my fish didnt really seem to enthused.....hmm kinda a nice freebie though.

Assumption since I've seen the food:
Most likely Instant Oceans "Gel" Food.
They have a whole line of "new" foods under the Instant Ocean brand name.
I have not seen this "offer" any where for buying "reef crystals" or "IO" buckets.
However, I have seen the whole line of new IO food available for sale.
a few kinds of "Gel" food that come in squeezable packets. Vegi, carnivore, mix etc.. It's a sort of "dry stock" form of Liquid like food that is the IO answer to "alternative" to frozen.
There is also IO algae/nori like dry strips and
these new sit on the bottom food "discs".
The discs are available in herbivore and carnivore styles as well as a different mix.
I have not tried any of this. Thought it looked maybe interesting. However, I'm definitely not a fan of the "disc" like stuff. It reminds me of those ridiculous "vacation food" discs you see in "freshwater". I'm sure the food is better quality than that. It kind of looks it. But still, it's designed to sit in tank until all gone. A possible waste spreading around ones tank if not eaten enough.
According to IO, fish go nuts over it. It's supposed to be formulated out of really good ingredients. But I'm skeptical.
I still prefer my various frozen foods including Rods and The ocean nutrition algae strips and pellets, J Sprung nori etc..
It looks like oneradtek202 got a Gel "Sample" free for buying Reef Crystals.
Perhaps a special promo right now.
I do like Reef Crystals, but this food, I don't know...

I've seen some at a couple of the LFS. Can't remember which one.
But I think in Buffalo.
I was just at TRS & CF in Roch. last week.
They don't have it there yet, that I saw...

ya the pic on the left is what i got. kinda squirts ouuta the packet into ur tank and stay clumpy. idk fish didnt react well but theyve been getting PE mysis all along lol ill keep u updated if tehy take to it

i feed it once or twice a week just for variety.try putting the food in a glass with some tank water and break it down into little pieces.that seems to work best for me.i got mine free at macna and now in the salt also .
