I try to break my pieces up right when I get them home from TFP or wherever I buy it from..since it's a good hour from their freezer to mine the food is much more pliable.
I keep all my stuff in ziploc storage bags (I always toss what I bought it in).
When I bought tubes of frozen cyclop-eeze from The Hidden Reef I used to squeeze the whole tube into a 1 gallon Ziploc bag. Since it was an hour + drive from there as well the cyclopeeze would be squishable by the time I got home. I'd press it into a sheet that filled the whole bag (flattened) and then refreeze. Once it was solid again it was real easy to break into nickle size pieces which was more than enough given the density of the suspended material.
Since THR's accident I've been buying my cyclop-eeze in a mixture of other stuff that TFP sells frozen (I forget the name). It come with a dispenser..which sucks IMO, but since they don't carry Cyclop-eeze frozen by itself I'm stuck with it until THR recovers.
Other than that...I use the old..."put it in a ziplock bag and bang the crap out of it" method.
I'm also going to try "Reef Chili" as a cyclopeeze replacement..they sponsor RC now so I bought a bottle..it's freeze dried..no freezer to deal with.
I tried making my own frozen food once...nobody liked it.
I need to come up with a better recipe I guess...I've seen some on RC, just never bothered again..I'm more into the corals than the fish..hence the cyclop-eeze and reef-chili.
