For Sale "“ Complete, ready to go 155 gallon reef tank set-up (Chicago area).

We have moved and are unable to set-up our tank so it must go.

Having been in the hobby for over twelve years this was one of the hardest decisions we have had to make. Unfortunately our new house is on a septic system and our street drains into a wetland (plowed in winter, no salt on the streets). Disposing of the old salt water from water changes is not possible into our septic system without having to spend ten's of thousands of dollars on a new field every few years caused by the salt clogging the field, or by damaging the federally protected wetlands and facing severe fines.

This is a complete custom system and will not be sold off piece by piece.

Im a plumber and I've never heard that. septic tanks are made of concrete or fiberglass salt should'nt hurt them.

I'm on well and septic too. To avoid the problem of salt eating my concrete tank, I pump my old salt water/waste/water softner waste to a dry well I dug far from the septic field, 50 feet from the house. 6' deep. Big ol' hole filled with gravel, with a large plastic drum, 1 1/2" pvc to it, covered with dirt and grass. Can't see it unless I told you where it was and you dug it up. Years with salt. It cost me about $100 to do, not including the pump cost. Only down side is I need to flip a switch to empty my bucket in the sink.

Heck if its that big of a deal give your water change water to someone with a fish only system. He would take it away for free and save some money too.

You could always take it some place and dump it far away.
