yeah don't be surprised if you receive a penalty I posted an ad and forgot one price on an item and they pulled my ad and gave me penalty points

You also don't have enough posts and you haven't been a member long enough to be selling items.
You only have a certain amount of time to edit posts, I think it's around and hour from when you post it.

the rules don't seem to matter they only apply to certain people it seems like I've seen a lot of people doing that and nothing's done but mine was pulled immediately

We sure don't have the time nor desire to "single people out".
What we do is respond to posts that are reported to us unless we come across the posts ourselves. The tool we utilize to manage this (because it's a large board) an automated infraction system. The "penalty points" you got are really just a "Hey don't do that and here's why". The points automatically expire in 7 days.
The funny thing is, all the selling rules are listed right at the top of this very forum. A kind of hard to miss title of "Important! - Please read before doing any selling, trading, or buying!!" Really...it's there...go look....I swear...
The folks that report posts that we take action on are the one's who have read the rules and understand them and are telling us that someone is not following the rules.

How do I fine those rules? I'm new to this forum and would like to read them!
300,000+ people follow the rules here without ever being contacted about it. Most of the few that don't, accept the warning, apologize for straying and don't do it again. Then, there's the few, of which you appear to be one, that whine about the staff here and how mean and unfair we are.
All I can do is offer you some cheese to go with your whine.
To be clear, every item offered here, whether you start a sale thread, or answer a WTB thread MUST be priced. Keeps people from assessing their prospective buyer, and taking advantage of uneducated noobies with inflated prices.
ALSO, you have one hour to edit your posts. A bit annoying in a case like this, maybe. But we feel like people should stand by what they post. If you don't realize it was something that you shouldn't have said within 60 mins, you should have to live with your own words.
