-Comes complete with 4 way valve
- 4 Revolutions Nozzles- these are 1 inch threaded

is this for use with a closed loop? I am getting a tank this weekend that is pre-drilled for one and I have never used one before.....

Yes, it will work with either, simply hook up your water from pump to the bottom of the valve and then hook your returns to the 1 inch outlets on the valve. The Revolution heads then connect to the returns in the tank. The valve opens and closes the waterflow, when the head water flow stops it ratchets to a new position. They are an awesome system and there is a video of them on action on the manufacturers website, i unfortunately dont have one but i do have some still pictures of the system and you can see the heads in the tank. This is an awesome system but wont work on my new tank so i am selling it.

This is a fantastic system. I have the regular 4-way and love it, but the revolutions allow for a lot more randomized flow.
