I just read that post. I was there last year and in the cavern part of the cave. It appears they still do not know what happened. He really shouldn't have been diving over-head environment without training and he shouldn't have been alone.

I met Edd Sorenson while in the area and bought some gear from him. I also met Eduardo as he did our Nitrox fills while at Vortex. I'll probably see them again this year since I have a sidemount and cavern certification scheduled. I don't plan on going alone or through very tight restrictions.

Some of the original posts on Scuba Board said he was employed with Scuba Tech in Destin, the folks I dive with. They said no way. They knew him but he was never employed by them. Strange situation, at best.

That is odd. I don't know if the mysterious disappearance will ever be solved.
