For those about to LED.

Good article..but to bad they dont include the top of the line fixtures (Reeftech and Pac SUN).

I was hoping to see one of those in there even though there was mention early on in one of the articles about Pac Sun being on the higher end of quality I believe. I have been anxious to see more third party reviews of the pac sun since I should be getting my new pandora r2 led/t5 fixture next week.

That is the worst logic i have ever heard...it was NEVER a FACT the earth was flat..it was a BELIEF....Beliefs and Facts are two completely different things.

Actually, many people take what they believe as fact. Laws and facts do not always hold true and current facts will be disproved at some point in time.

Here is a good fact though, orphek doesn't build their own LEDs like they say. They are cheao Chinese knock offs with tight optics to increase PAR.

The artice had very little "facts" but a ton of beliefs. Rarely, do people differentiate between the two.

'Facts' are just 'Beliefs' we all currently agree on.

Think of Einstein's relativity - when it came into play we had to give up many 'facts' from the old system. When Quantum Mechanics came into play, we had to give up certain held 'facts' from Relativity...

And it keeps going. People treat Science as Unwavering, even relying on it like a dogmatic religion at times. But Science is not ever certain of being 'right'. A good Scientist takes nothing as 'fact' for the second you decide something is infallible, you have lost your claim of adhering to the Scientific Method.

'Science' is NOT FACT, it is merely our BEST EXPLANATION SO FAR.

Anyway back to the topic of LED's...

This article highlights what I already knew, unlike t5's or MH which are consistent model to model and brand to brand, LED's can run the gamut from Wonderful to Pure Crap.

My GF is trying to convince me on LED's, I Think I'll wait another 3-5 years until they truly 'get it right' and stick with my T5's in the meantime
