For those new to ich

I have never used copper but I would think if you were to use copper and then QT corals or inverts you would have serious issues unless major washing/decontamination of the QT tank took place to get rid of any residual copper. I would think leaving a couple "Poly Filters" in there for a few weeks "might" take care of the copper but I would not know the answer to that Q.

I haven't used copper either, I'm a Hypo/Chloriquine Phosphate guy personally. and I don't do coral, I was just asking for the copper reefers out there that use only one QT.

Good point. IMHO hypo is just sooo easy to do it's pathetically overlooked and underused for ich. Velvet I hope I never have to deal with.

They say that there are strains of ich that are immune to such levels. But my research has never concluded that. There was an article, not sure if it was here or somewhere else, where Japanese scientist had debunked all claims that ich strains can resist the hypo, and that basically you are either dealing with a pathogen that is NOT ich, but velvet or something similar. OR, it's a case where above caution of not passing ich onto your main tank was not followed and the hobbyist transfered the parasite into the DT through tank transfer.

you use a smaller lets say 10 gallon quarantine for the corals. A seperate one, one that has never been used with copper.
