After running my two 6100 for years, i got a new rebuilding kit .
I have a question for you all.... the small bearing with the orange O-ring at the bottom of the pump impeller is this bearing suppose to be snug? looks to me that is not to tight in there is not loose but not to tight . the pumps was clean today and the two kits was install just like the book say , the pumps running perfectly as always . But i was just wondering what will stop this bearing form turning ? The old bearings was a little more snug in there.
By the way This pumps was clean every six months to nine months the alarms never came one ....The best investment i ever made so far for my reef tank..
Thank you all.

The old one was snug i use a screw to get it out .
I still need a screw to get the new one out , but is not as snug.
I may have a bad parts here. Is the same thing in both pumps not as snug as the old ones.

If your pump doesn't show any sign of problem, give it sometime... Tunze always stand behind their product. They will take care of your pump if anything goes wrong..

It is not important that the fit of this part be tight. The key thing is that the fit of the base of the magnet in the bearing be loose and free. The oring should provide sufficient friction to keep it from spinning unless the drive unit fit in the bearing is too tight.

So far no problems at all with the new tunze streems rebuilding kits so far the pumps running very powerful.
I saw not much of a difference between the old and new parts after four years i was expecting to see some more significant wear of the old parts but was very minimum.
I saw the new large tunze skimmers over Aquarium Center Dominic display them very nicely i like the single pump one for me............
soon .
thank you ......Roger
