Forget your bills...and your wife

But I would rather have a Chaetodontoplus ballinae... but again, if I could get one.. scratch that. If ANYONE could get one.

Mine comes in tomorrow. I had them send it through the post office. On a ground shipment. Ordered it 8 days ago.

That was a joke of course.

If guaranteed that I could have the dive experience in full health along with the guide, catch one and return with the fish in good health..........yep I'd do it.
Would I post it to the public?.....
As far as the wife goes we already made that deal. She can have a "pass" with Vince Vaughn and I can have this fish. Even if it meant selling all other fish, or retanking and/or aquascaping of the current to ensure the dominance of the fish.

Rare fish and i get it but if a friend came over do you think he would notice the 100$ emp first?

Even if I was rich I wouldn't buy that fish. I just don't see the attraction. I'd still pass if it was $100. To each his own.

i am not buying any fish no matter how rare or pretty that is out of my financial comfort range especially at the expense of the bills or the wife

there are much cheaper fish that i wont buy because i wont over spend my budget to satisfy a desire... it would take me many years of saving my fish budget to buy that fish because i still have to spend money out of my fish budget for food and maint. items and once i saved enough to buy this fish then i would only spend that kinda change on it if it could be insured as an financial property investment

The problem I have with fish this expensive is they can stil die just like you $10 damsel. Obviously if you are spending this kind of money on a fish your system should be almost bullet proof but accidents still happen. I fear the day I lose $1000 worth of live stock, both due to the lose of life aswell as financial lose.

just my 2 cents.

Think of all the men who have spent more than that on a diamond.
Yes, I know, diamonds are forever. Fish are mortal.

On the other hand, the fish may last longer than the marriage and be far less trouble.

I keep running into articles about these rare fish and I think this may top the charts...

Would anyone pay 20K for this angelfish?

That's if you could get one, of course...

I remember when that fish went for 5 grand, back in 1996. It didn't last to long in the reef. As much was not known about it then and its exact requirements. My stepfather purchased the fish and it was the only angel in his tank. It was bought from
Absolutely Fish(name was Everything Fish in 1996). I have never seen another one for sale in any store since then. Even Absolutely Fish stopped trying to get them because the 2 they did order both died shortly after being purchased.

I would rather spend the money on a rare hybrid; blueface/majestic, chrys/mac, venustus/multibar, that I can keep at the normal tank temps. But if I could afford that fish I could afford to have it's own tank.
