Formalin for ich and fish compatability

I posted this in the disease forum and got no response. Can I use formalin in a tank that includes a rhinopias and banded cat shark? I know they are copper sensitive but would like to know. I am having problems with my QT setup and need to act fast.

As far as I know, Formalin is not designed for and does not effect Ich.

The only cures for ich (100% effective) are hyposalinity and Copper. Formalin is for bacterial issues.

I was trying to avoid copper. I am setting up a qt tank right now. Formalin says it will cure ich and bacterial issues. My main problem was ich but seems to be leading to secondary problems with my fish, I have lost 5 fish at over $800. I was mainly wondering about treating with the shark and rhinopias. Avoiding copper was mainly for the shark.

formalin's supposed to be super kill power though no .. ? Paraguard worked for me to remove brook though (or at least anothing agent that caused massive mucus threading) .. so at least it works against protozoans.

Hyposalinity is your best bet (dollar for dollar)
