Formalin treatement

To Mr. Steven Pro

I have a C. heraldi in the QT since he arrived, 10 days ago. Because he had some white spots and stop eating, I put him in a formalin dip with the dosage that you state in your article about Ick treatement : 1ml of formalin in 4 litres of salt water during 30 to 60 min. every other day for two weeks. After, you state that the fish must return to the QT with no formalin.
My question is: would it be wised to put some formaline, let me say, a quarter of the dose that you recomend for the continuous treatement ( 1 ml for 100 gallons = more or less 1 drop for 25 litres) ?? My idea is to keep the parasits "down" during the staying in the QT and every other day give them a more shoking dose during the dip.

Thank you very much for your very informative articles.
Best regards
Flavio

In that article, I tried to discuss every treatment option that had ever been recommended, but I personally don't recommend all of them. For treating Marine Ich/Cryptocaryon irritans I prefer copper or hyposalinity.
