Update on Paul:

His sister posted this on FB:

Paul is very intelligent. Had everything planned out for this day. He requested that the day of his funeral don't wear black, wear fun colors but not red. For his Alpha bruhs to wear black. He wanted everyone to read the books The 21 Indispensable Qualities of a Leader and How Full is Your Bucket. Make sure you tell someone thank you and don't say I love you unless you mean it and most importantly show others that you care, don't just tell them.

I was looking at my aquarium just now and noted some zoas Paul gave me one time when we hung out at his place years ago. I only commented how beautiful they were, and he just gave me some. I didn't even ask, and he only had a few polyps himself, but he game me some anyways. That just how he was. I will keep them forever in memoriam.

That just can't be right. I feel sick about it. He had SO much going for him. What could have gone so wrong??
I thought much the same. But there is more to each of us than we present in public. If the police assumption is correct, there is no telling what he was going through in private. I had a good friend in college take his own life within minutes of talking to me on the phone and making plans to go to a basketball game with me in a couple of weeks. Never knew a thing was wrong in his life.

Joel,
Paul was just that kind of person. I used to give him frags because he was so genuine. He was one of those people I met that I knew right away had a lot of potential in life and was destined to go far. That combined with his friendly non-judgmental personality was a winning combination. I only wish I had had more time to get to know him better.

It's a little irritating to me that when someone dies everyone talks about how great they were because I don't often think they really were all that awesome (no offense) but in this case...he really was THAT great. Paul really was an awesome dude. I REALLY WILL miss the crap outta that guy.

I wish I could go to the funeral on Saturday but I'm stuck a bit...here in Brazil.

I'll be thinking about you guys though.

I will call tomorrow and find out about sending flowers. If there has been a request to donate to a charity or other institution in Paul's memory, I will post that information. The club will be sending flowers ($100) or donating $100.

Eddie~ His sister shared the following on Facebook:

Paul was a very interesting and giving man. He lived his life to what he felt was his fullest. In his letter he said he would love for there to be more encouragement for professional students about mental health and support for those with mental health problems. My aunts and I are thinking about starting a scholarship in his honor for that reason. If you would like to contribute to his cause instead of sending flowers you can send any monetary donations to 5835 Sun Cove #2, Memphis, TN 38134. I and his family will work on his request.

Thanks for the information Randy. Unfortunately, I did not see this until after I purchased the floral arrangement. Members of ETRC or other friends of Paul should find this information helpful if they would like to do something other than flowers.

If you would like to send flowers, this is the phone number of the folks we used: 901-412-2635.

I am so so so sorry that this has happened. My heart aches. I am praying for the family and friends. I met Paul several times at swaps and we was always so nice and kind.

A sad loss of one of the Best persons I have ever met. A huge loss for our hobby and a even greater loss to his profession.

I never got a chance to meet Paul but did exchange a couple PM's with him. Seemed like a very nice and genuine person.

On behalf of Kentucky Reef Society and myself we send our condolences for a fellow Reefer and his family.

Oh man... this absolutely breaks my heart. I hate to hear this. The couple of times that I met him, he was great to talk to and be around. He will be 100% missed. :(
