he's a fast little one, trying to get pics of him swimming around but he's just too quick

these are just with my phone, if I get around to charging my camera I can take some nice ones

He's cute Nate! Chris said he ran into you at AW yesterday. We picked one up too, but from Derek. Hopefully they'll have better luck the our ambons...

Great pics Nate. Nice meeting you at AW the other day. I was trying to locate more info on these guys. Have you found any really good sources? Or Greg do you have any good source info on these guys? I try and stay as versed as possible on all species we care for. So far he has already eat his first meal. Hopefully as with our Redfins he will convert over to frozen as fast as they did.

I found some info, http://eol.org/pages/218466/details#habitat

says its found in 66 degrees water, ouch

ill try to drop my tank down to 72~ and see how well he can handle it

so far he's ate frozen brine and mysis, wouldnt even go after ghost shrimps

based off sexing it as a red fin, I'm guessing it's a female, that and the red fin and it are buddies and follow eachother around

That's why I asked if you were keeping the fortesques cooler in an earlier post. We almost bought the one they had on DD back awhile, but didn't want to set up a second temperate tank for it at the time.

yeah your post made me look up the information, forgot to reply though

it seems to be doing really well and is super active, but I fear that over time it will deteriorate

Ya never know, but I think you should keep it on the cooler side like you plan. I think the red fin should tolerate 72*F OK.

I'll try to get a picture of it, but the wasp has a clear "mustache" that he flares when he is hunting, lays flat on the body and pops out when he strikes, really cool
