Yes, but they usually have to be weaned onto frozen first, and crustaceans are what make up the bulk of their diet in the wild. Live saltwater feeder shrimp would be a better bet.
When mine was really small I would hand feed it small pieces of raw shrimp. I would have to wave it in front of him to entice him to eat, just dropping the food in wouldn't work. I've got access to a limitless amount of striped shoreline crabs that he loves to hunt. Sometimes I put a crab in a small jar with a hole to small for the crab to get out of and let the octopus work the lid off to get at his meal. I feel like live food gives my octopus more enrichment .
