Aquarium Concepts in Hayward has a small(1"), green and white striped P. Ciliata if anybody is interested. Why is it i can all these others, but no O.S., weird.

I just caled to reserve it, and the clerk told me that it was dead...

Dammit, I have been looking for a P. cilata forever.
Please let me know if you see another one there, thanks.

They told me (on the phone) that it was on it's back, not moving. I replied that they don't have swim bladders/gravity sensing, and they frequently lie on their back. The clerk had another guy prod around to get it to move and pronounced that it was dead...
He said that they might get some more on Wednesday.

Strange how mantis survive hellish extremes in Shipping, the attempts of aquarists to kill them, the parameter variables of small home tanks (most of mine are in Eclipse 6s...), yet the 'knowledgeable' folks at the LFS can't seem to keep them alive as often as not.

Is a Ciliata all your looking for to complete your collection? I travel to 3 different shops in my area on a regular basis, ill keep an eye out. I will go to A.C. on wednesday to see what they got as well for ya.

Just got home from work, sorry for the delay in answerng.

A P cilata is the one mantis that I am most looking to get, yes. I would also like a G. smithi or anything that I don't yet have (O. scyllarus,G. viridis,G. ternatensis, G. platysoma, G. chiraga).
