Found a very healthy looking blue gigantea! Help me with best placement!

Sometimes I can't believe my luck, both good and bad
I stopped by my local Petland to look at some fish and guess what just came in? I perfect 10" blue gigantea! Fully inflated, tight mouth, super reactive and sticky!
I watched it for an hour before deciding to bring it home for just $80!!!
OK- I've been acclimating it for the past 2 hours and I'm ready to put it in the tank.
Placement options for best possible acclimation:
1.Put it in a high random flow area about 1/2 up in the tank on rocks?
2.On the sand bottom in medium random flow?
3. Up very high, 6" below water surface, high light and medium random flow?
Please help! I so much want this guy to make it!!!

I am no expert on placement but I would say choice number one would be my pick for placement. PICTURES.

Very beautiful anemone. Its always nicer to see one in real life than "enhanced" ones over the internet.

I will let others chime in about the placement. But I still believe choice number one is the best.

What and how many anemones do you have now?

I have a few BTAs, the magnifica, a small 3" crispa at the very bottom, and now the gigantea. That's all

Oh, don't listen to these guys. They don't know what they are talking about. I'll tell you, there is only one good place to place the anemone: in MY tank!!!
No, seriously, it is gorgeous! I would put it on the bottom in the sand, since they are sand dwellers in nature. If it does not like the place, it will move to wherever is best. Good luck with it, it was a great find

#1 or #2. Mine have always seemed to prefer to be at the bottom of the tank. Near the sand/rock interface as Rob B. put it, although mine are now in BB tank. I did adjust flow though to make sure there was a lot down there for them.

Nice score and good luck. I wish I could find half the finds you seem to be able to make. Very jealous!

I can't believe how good it looks just after arriving at the store and now acclimating to my tank. Its mouth is tightly closed and its so reactive that it closes itself up with every touch. I've put in spot number 1 for now and we'll see how it does.

Wow it looks great. I am going to check the petland in my area now.

So far so good. Its fully attached itself to the rocks now. His mouth remains very tight and I can see its individual tentacles moving about all on their own. Its getting some good moderate to high random flow over the top of it. I think I may try to feed it tomorrow night. Just a very small piece of mysis or silverside.

Who'd have ever thought I'd find a nem like this at Petland? I called them earlier and they told me they got a nice blue carpet in, but I expected it to be a typical teal saddle like they often get. Boy was I surprised when I saw this guy and its great apparent condition to boot!

Yep. I believe that gigantea are far less prone to catching and eating our ornamental fish than the hadonni, so I'm risking it. I may very well move this gigantea to the 40 cube system when its up and running though.

I used to have a mandarin who would sleep under the tentacles of one of my gigantea's. They are really well behaved anemones. It will be fine in the 240 but indeed a 40g does happen make a nice carpet display on its own. (I wonder who else has one like that. )

Option 1 would be my choice. That's right about where my gigantea sits in my 150.

That is about the best condition I have ever seen in a gigantea from a LFS. Congrats.
Mine sits on the top of my rock work, in front of a 1" water return that cycles on and off about every 20 seconds. I only have a 150 watt de MH. It has shown a lot of growth since I increased my pump and switched the return from a 3/4" flat nozzle to a 1" open pipe. I also switched lamps from a Phoenix 14K to a XM 10K a little after that. It seems to like that a lot better too. Since I don't have great light intensity, I felt like I needed to get more PAR.

Yes I think Giganteas are more well behaved as well. I think it will look nice in your display.
