Found awesome clam at lfs...

The owner had just put it in the tank, so it wasn't priced yet.

Anyone wanna guesss the price? I'm going back to see it, so i'll post the actual price latefr. It's about 6 inches, and haThis ls blue, yellow, green, and orange. This lfs has decent prices.

Me - "What kind of clam is it?"
Owner - "Tridacnid."
Me - "No, what species?"
Owner - "...tridacnid..."

LOL.

Well I called back that day and it was already on hold, lol.

She said it was $70 though. Not bad considering how big it was, and the color. I wish I could have gotten it...

Possibly ORA Derasa? Saw one on ebay and it was beautiful green, yellow, blue.

Hmm...could be. Idk though if it was an ORA I would think that she could give me a better ID then "Tridacnid". It had a very smooth shell.

There seems to be a lot of those around if they are what I think they are. I picked one up, I'll post a pic.

Derasa shells are the smoothest of all the clams. They have vertical folds on them and otherwise are plain.

It didn'thave any folds, which is why I didn't know what it was either...

Here's a pic of the Deresas I thought might be the clam you were talking about. Got it a couple weeks ago. It's about 4" - 4.5" and is hanging out in my frag tank with a few other clams.
